Dave Reno is an experienced workers’ compensation defense attorney who has practiced in the field since 1987. A graduate of Grove City College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. Reno initially worked for the PA Bureau of Workers’ Compensation as a law clerk for Judges (then Referees). He practiced for 21 years as an associate and partner with the Ft. Washington, PA law firm of Timoney Knox LLP where he represented insurance carriers, third party administrators, self-insured businesses, and municipal entities in workers’ compensation matters, handling a wide variety of cases involving orthopedic injuries, occupational diseases, hearing loss and psychiatric conditions. He has argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme and Commonwealth Courts on a variety of issues.
In 2010, Mr. Reno joined Zenith Insurance Company, a specialty workers’ compensation carrier, as Northeastern Regional Office Staff Counsel. There, he performed litigation management duties involving formulating legal strategy on newly reported claims, consulting with and overseeing outside defense counsel in PA, NJ, MD and DE on cases in litigation, providing regulatory and compliance advice to the underwriting department, identifying subrogation matters, and managing outside legal defense costs. In 2013, wanting to again actively litigate cases, Mr. Reno joined Carpenter McCadden and Lane, LLP.
Mr. Reno is active in the Workers’ Compensation Sections of the PA and Montgomery County Bar Associations and has spoken on numerous workers’ compensation issues for Bar Association CLE classes and in presentations to customers and agents of Zenith Insurance Company.
